Covid-19 Statements

We have introduced covid-19 statements to enable businesses and community groups to publicise the measures they are taking to reduce the risk of infection and reassure customers and visitors of their safety when venturing out.

Is it safe to go shopping?

As the government continues to ease lockdown measures, more and more businesses are reopening their doors. That is one part of the equation, but the public needs to have confidence that the businesses they use are taking appropriate measures to protect them before they will return in greater numbers.

That's why we have introduced covid-19 statements. They allow businesses to clearly state the measures they are taking to reduce the risk of transmission, protecting both customers and their workforce.

What is a covid-19 statement?

A covid-19 statement is unique to each business. It clearly states the measures that have been put in place to reduce the risk of transmission.
Issues that are addressed include:

  • Social distancing
  • Hygiene
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Managing customers, visitors & contractors

Any member displaying a "covid-19" tab in our search results has created a covid-19 statement - just click on the tab to see it!

We have also introduced a "trading status" indicator so that customers can readily determine if a business is currently trading.

It's not just about shops...

Every business that has potential contact with the public needs to clearly state how they will interact with customers, clients and suppliers. So everyone from plumbers and electricians to accountants and solicitors need to communicate how they intend to run their businesses for the foreseeable future.

And it's not just about businesses...

We have many community projects and groups who are also striving to protect their members and people who use their services, so community members can also create covid-19 statements.
